In the process of assisting the global transition to green and low-carbon development, photovoltaics is undoubtedly one of the main lines of China’s new-energy industry development and also serves as the core engine driving the global low-carbon green economy. According to reports from the International Energy Agency, the use of renewable energy continues to expand worldwide, with a particularly notable acceleration in the deployment of solar energy capacity. In 2023, the installed capacity of solar photovoltaics reached a record 420 gigawatts, while China’s new photovoltaic installations amounted to 216.88 gigawatts, accounting for more than half of the global total.

3PEAK’s Key Products Empower and Drive the Strengthening of Chips, Filling the Gaps in Photovoltaic Energy Storage Applications

Solar power generation system, also known as photovoltaic inverter system, is a critical device that converts the direct current (DC) generated by solar photovoltaic panels into alternating current (AC). It contains complex electronic systems that include power inversion, high-voltage current and voltage detection, auxiliary power management, communication interfaces, and more. 3PEAK can provide customers with a one-stop analog solution for all these systems.

3PEAK’s photovoltaic inverter application solutions cover multiple key components, including isolated gate drivers, non-isolated gate drivers, isolated amplifiers, and more. For example, TPM27524 and TPM27517 serve as non-isolated gate drivers, TPA8001 and TPA8003 as isolated amplifiers, and TPM23513, TPM23514, and TPM21530 as isolated gate drivers. These products collectively ensure the efficient and stable operation of inverters, also driving the strengthening of the chips and filling the gaps in China’s robust new-energy industrial ecosystem.

3PEAK’s latest release, the high-PSRR (power supply rejection ratio), high-bandwidth, high-voltage operational amplifier TPA267x series, boast a bandwidth of 10 MHz and a slew rate of 15 V/μs. They achieve a suppression ratio of 80 dB at 100 kHz power interference, and the temperature drift of the offset voltage is only 2 μV/°C, ensuring precise signal sampling across the full temperature range and reducing design costs in power supply for customers. These products are widely applicable in the field of photovoltaic energy storage.

In the realm of isolation products, 3PEAK offers a wide range of products including TPM23513, TPM23514M, TPM5350, and TPM21530. These products provide various input types, output configurations, and protection features to meet the requirements of different power levels and application scenarios. The TPM2753x, TPA800x, and TPT77xx series deliver high-reliability isolation solutions, suitable for applications requiring high-voltage isolation, such as signal isolation in photovoltaic energy storage system. For energy storage applications that require smaller pcb dimensions, TPA8101 is recommended as the isolated operational amplifier, and it supports the TSSOP8 small-size package.

In addition to ensuring the instantaneous isolation withstand voltage capability of isolation products, it is also important to consider the isolation withstand voltage capability throughout the product’s entire lifecycle. This involves adopting the commonly used semiconductor industry reliability testing method known as TDDB. By applying different voltage and temperature stresses to various batches of chips, the chip model parameters can be extracted. Through statistical formula fitting, the service life of isolation chips under the operating isolation voltage can be determined. The IEC 60747-17 international standard explicitly stipulates that the key parameter Viowm, which represents the isolation operating voltage of digital isolation products, must be calibrated through validation with TDDB experimental data. This validation is essential to demonstrate the service life of isolation products under high isolation voltages, such as supporting 1,000 V DC for a long-term usage of 40 years.

3PEAK has established a dedicated Time-Dependent Dielectric Breakdown (TDDB) lab specifically for isolation products. The lab operates a high-voltage TDDB testing system developed in-house by 3PEAK, capable of conducting 24/7 fully automatic TDDB testing for isolation products for months or even longer.

Moreover, to meet the needs of customers from different countries and regions worldwide, 3PEAK offers all of its isolation products (both industrial and automotive grade) with a full range of safety certifications: VDE, TÜV, UL, CSA, CQC, and CB. These certifications ensure that the products meet the safety standards required for export to major regions such as North America and Europe.
