3PEAK (stock code: 688536), a semiconductor supplier focusing on high-performance analog chips and embedded processors, has launched the TPR70 series of internationally leading high-precision voltage references.
The TPR70 series voltage references are designed by 3PEAK using the CMOS process. The series features an ultra-low temperature coefficient and ultra-high initial accuracy.
The TPR70 integrates a high-performance temperature drift control circuit. Within the temperature range of –40°C to 125°C, it achieves a typical temperature coefficient of just 1.5 ppm/°C. Therefore, it outperforms the high-precision voltage references TPR50 in terms of the temperature coefficient, reaching an internationally advanced level.
The TPR70 adopts a novel architecture that significantly enhances output voltage accuracy. The initial accuracy reaches ±0.05%, and the long-term drift is as low as 10 ppm/1,000 h, ensuring stable output accuracy during extended periods of operation.
The TPR70 supports a capacitive load range of 0.1 μF to 100 μF and provides a variety of output voltage options. It is ideal for high-precision voltage reference source applications in fields such as test and measurement, industrial instruments, data acquisition, communication, and medical equipment.
Advantages of TPR70 High Initial Accuracy
Initial accuracy: Indicates how closely the reference voltage matches the nominal voltage at 25°C, typically expressed as a percentage.
The TPR70 series references have a maximum initial accuracy of 0.05%. This high initial accuracy provides an accurate reference voltage for the system. The voltage is often used as the reference for ADC or DAC of the system. For ADC, any deviation in the binary value Vref can lead to binary value deviations and thus result in system errors.
Only a reference voltage with sufficiently high accuracy can ensure the accuracy of the binary value converted by ADC.
Low Temperature Drift
Temperature drift: Indicates how the output voltage varies with temperature, also known as the temperature coefficient, and is measured in ppm/°C.
In the full temperate range, the output accuracy of the devices varies with temperature as follows:
In the temperature range of 0°C to 70°C, the output accuracy of the devices varies with temperature as follows:
In the temperature range of –40°C to 105°C, the typical and maximum temperature drifts are 1.5 ppm/°C and 3 ppm/°C, respectively. A low temperature drift enables the system to maintain stable measurement values across the full temperature range, eliminating the need for extensive temperature calibration of the system and improving production efficiency.
Low Time Drift
Time drift: Also known as long-term stability, refers to the deviation in the output voltage over time due to device aging.
The TPR70 series has an initial drift of 10 ppm over 1,000 hours, ensuring system stability during extended periods of operation.
Typical Application of TPR70
The TPR70 series can ensure a current output of ±10 mA, and its output can be directly fed to an ADC as a reference voltage without going through an operational amplifier. The following figure shows the typical application circuit of the TPR70. The output capacitance supported ranges from 0.1 μF to 100 μF, and the NR pin is connected to a capacitor of more than 10 nF to ground. This can further reduce the output voltage noise of the TPR70.

A high-precision reference source is crucial for a high-precision signal chain. A standard signal chain usually includes ADC and DAC for measuring and restoring analog signals. The reference source is the highest voltage reference available in the signal chain, and its accuracy plays a decisive role in the overall accuracy of the system.
